Before we jump into becoming that girl, let’s ask a big question: What’s your motivation? Why do you want this?

Maybe it’s a dream you’ve always had, something you really want to achieve. Or maybe you want to make your family proud, to show them and yourself that you can do great things. It could also just be that you want to be happier and feel more satisfied with your life.

Whatever your reason, take a moment to think about it. Write it down or pin it to your vision board. Your reason is like your guiding light, helping you through tough times and pushing you toward your goals. So, what’s your reason? What’s motivating you to leave laziness behind and make a change? Once you know, keep it close and let it inspire you as we move forward together toward a brighter future.

Self-Reflection: Getting Real with Yourself

Alright, let’s start by thinking about the things we do every day. Do you keep pressing the snooze button in the morning? Or maybe you’ve been skipping your workouts a lot lately? Don’t worry, I’m sure many of us can relate. But now, it’s important to be real with yourself about what you really want and what’s stopping you. Think about those times when you’ve doubted yourself, and it stopped you from doing what you wanted. Understanding these patterns is the first step to becoming that girl, taking charge, and guiding your life where you want it to go.

QUICK STORYTIME

I remember a time when I constantly doubted my ability to stick to a healthy routine. Every morning, I would set my alarm with the intention of waking up early to exercise before work, but when the alarm went off, I would hit snooze repeatedly, convincing myself that I was too tired to work out. This pattern continued for weeks, and I began to feel frustrated with myself for not being able to follow through on my goals.

However, one day, I decided enough was enough. I realized that my self-doubt was holding me back from achieving the healthy lifestyle I desired. So, I made a conscious effort to challenge those negative thoughts. Instead of hitting snooze, I forced myself to get out of bed and start my fasted cardio sessions. It wasn’t easy at first, but with each day, it became more manageable.

What really helped me with my consistency was when I joined the Heat Xtreme Challenge, an online fitness challenge I discovered during the COVID-19 pandemic. Having a structured program and a supportive community to keep me accountable made a significant difference. As I persisted with the challenge, I noticed a shift in my mindset. I started to believe in my ability to prioritize my health and well-being.

Over time, I developed a consistent exercise routine and improved my overall confidence and self-discipline. This experience taught me the importance of recognizing and overcoming self-doubt, ultimately empowering me to take control of my life and pursue my goals with determination.

Setting Goals: Dream Big, Start Small

Now that we’ve done some soul-searching, it’s time to set some goals. Maybe you want to get your dream job, run a marathon, or simply feel better about yourself. What is your true desire? What sparks your enthusiasm? Identify what truly motivates you and pursue it consistently. Whatever it is, write it down and go for it. Break your goals into smaller steps, and when you achieve each step, celebrate! Think about the excitement of checking things off your to-do list.

Each little success gets you closer to your big dreams. Remember, it’s okay if things don’t always go as planned. The important thing is to keep going and stay motivated. As the saying goes, keep ya eyes on the prize! Surround yourself with supportive people who believe in you and your goals. And most importantly, be kind to yourself along the way. You’re making progress, and that’s something to be proud of.

Creating a Routine: Finding Your Groove

Now, let’s talk about routines. The term itself might not be all that exciting, but trust me, it can truly change your daily life. Think about setting aside time each day for the things that truly matter to you—be it creating content for your YouTube channel, practicing self-care, studying the Bible, or working toward your passions. Visualize seamlessly transitioning from one activity to the next, ending your day with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. As this routine becomes second nature to you, you’ll realize that you’re not simply going through the motions but thriving in every aspect of your life.

Routines are like a map for your day. They help you do things in order and free up mental space for inspiration and joy. Take, for instance, a morning routine where you wake up, relax for a bit, and then start your day feeling energized and clear-headed. This kind of routine can set a positive tone for your entire day, making it easier to handle whatever comes your way.

Establishing Self-Discipline: Taking Control

Self-discipline! Whew… now, this is the one! Self-discipline is the foundation for forming good habits, which is pretty much the secret to success. It’s the force that takes you from simply knowing what to do to actually doing it consistently and over time. Discipline involves controlling your actions, habits, and mindset to achieve your desired outcome. And that’s just it! You are in control of your life, sis. Now, ultimately, I know God be having to take the wheel from time to time, but He allows us to do the driving. As Janet Jackson sang in her iconic song, ‘When it has to do with my life, my life, I wanna be the one in control.’

To gradually build up your discipline, start by making small changes to your daily routine. And remember, consistency is key. Consider the moments when you kept going even though you felt like quitting. Each time you persisted, it made you more determined and reminded you why you’re working towards your goals.

As you get used to being disciplined in your routine, you’ll start to make progress and reach goals you thought were hard to achieve. Each little step you take adds up, so keep going. Stick to your path, celebrate every win, and see how your determination turns your dreams into reality.

Growth Mindset: Never Stop Learning

Life is like a big puzzle, and we’re all figuring it out as we go. Don’t be afraid to try new things, even if they feel scary at first. I know how it feels—I’m a lil bit shy and introverted myself, but I’ve started stepping out of my comfort zone, and I am getting into content creation. It’s a bit nerve-wracking, but that’s just how life is. And it’s totally fine to make mistakes along the way—that’s all part of learning.

I’m sure you can think of some times when you faced challenges head-on, and I bet each one taught you something important about being strong and flexible. It’s these experiences that help you become the person you’re meant to be. Look for opportunities even in unpleasant circumstances. Reflect on what lessons they might offer and how they can make you stronger. And remember to keep being fearless, growing from every setback, and enjoying the path toward becoming that girl!

Seeking Inspiration: Surrounding Yourself with Positivity

We all need a little inspiration from time to time, am I right? Whether it’s following badass women on social media, reading motivational books, or surrounding yourself with uplifting friends, find what lights a fire in your soul and run with it.

I’ve been fortunate enough to find a circle of amazing women whom I can talk to and go to for motivation, and in return, I provide the same support. It’s incredible how their encouragement and positive energy fuel my drive to keep pushing forward. Just imagine the contagious energy of being surrounded by people who lift you up and push you to be your best self. It’s in these moments of camaraderie that you find the fuel to keep striving for greatness.

So, make sure to be around people who make you feel good and support you. You’ll be surprised at how much it helps you reach your goals and overcome challenges.

Overcoming Procrastination: Just Do It

Let’s talk about procrastination! Whew, now, this is another monster—the enemy of getting stuff done, the one enemy some of us know all too well! Procrastination will have you scrambling at the last minute and missing out on opportunities that you can’t get back. Who’s guilty? 👀 Don’t worry; I have some tips for you.

The first one is to break big tasks into smaller, more manageable parts. That way, it feels less overwhelming, and you can tackle it one piece at a time. Another tip is to set deadlines for yourself and stick to them. This is where that discipline you’re practicing will come into play. It’s like giving yourself a little push to stay on track and get things done.

Then boom – when you finish something ahead of schedule, you will have the pleasure of experiencing an indescribably satisfying victory. It will make you feel like you have some free time on your hands to do whatever. When you take action before you need to, you’re not just completing tasks – you’re deciding how you spend your time, because you are the boss of your time. So, go on and say goodbye to procrastination and start making every moment matter.

Staying Flexible: Rolling with the Punches

Life can surprise us with challenges when we least expect them. But instead of letting them stop us, let’s see them as chances to learn and get stronger. Remember, it’s not about how many times you fall – it’s about how many times you stand back up. Just think about the tough times you’ve been through before. Every time you’ve bounced back from a setback, it’s made you stronger and more determined. It’s like each challenge is a chance for you to show just how tough you really are.

And guess what? Each time you face a curveball, you level up your resilience game. So, keep meeting those challenges face-to-face because each one makes you even stronger in the end. Remember, you’re that girl. 💕

Take a moment to think about how much you’ve grown and what you’ve learned. Every milestone you’ve reached is a sign of your strength, determination, and unwavering spirit.

So, celebrate your accomplishments – you’ve worked hard for them. And remember, this is just the start of an incredible journey filled with even more successes. Now, keep moving forward with confidence, knowing that you have the power to achieve even greater things in the future. Keep believing in yourself and your abilities because the best is yet to come.
